At the Lucan clinic we use very fine disposable sterile needles which are only used once and then discarded. There are approximately 360 acupuncture points on the human body and the acupuncturist will decide which points to use for you depending on your specific ailment .The acupuncturist usually uses between six and ten needles on each client, sometimes the acupuncturist will use moxa which is a warming herb to put warmth into the clients body if they have a cold condition or the acupuncturist might use suction cups or very mild electrical stimulation.
LASER THERAPY
Laser therapy involves the use of a low level laser machine, this laser machine sends a beam of light through the epidermis into the cells below where the damaged cells are stimulated so that they can take in more oxygen from the surrounding blood capillaries therebye increasing their rate of recovery. Laser therapy is aso very useful for treating open sores, ulcers, for neck pain, arthritis and skin ailments, it can also be used for acupuncture treatments instead of acupuncture needles
REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a form of therapy which involves massaging and stimulating different parts and areas of the clients feet. The various parts and ares of the clients feet relate directly to the various organs and parts of the clients body and by working massaging and stimulating these parts of the feet it is possible to bring the clients organs muscles and sinews back to their natural healthy state.
